Trying to balance business and life and just checking all the boxes is leaving you feeling overwhelmed and tired. Figuring out how to prioritize God in business can seem to add to that overwhelm… but it doesn’t have to!
You know you need to be prioritizing God in your business and in your life but often it just doesn’t happen!
Oh, I get it!
Last week I found myself on my knees bringing my wonky priorities to God again because I was overwhelmed. I hadn’t been prioritizing Him in my decisions and in my day and this was the result!
Can you relate?
It can be super hard to prioritize God in your business and life… to know how to make time for God with a busy schedule. But I’ve been here so many times…
Which basically means I’ve gotten quicker at knowing what I need to do when I’m in this mess.

I was just getting so frustrated with trying to force getting things done and figuring out what I should be focusing my business time on. I was feeling guilty that I “should” be spending time with my kids. (ps. Guilt is NOT from God… the enemy was at work)
It felt like I was getting nothing done but, that if I could just figure out what I needed to, I could knock it out and then hang out with my kids. WRONG.
Often I find if I’m feeling stuck it’s because I need to go to Him first with something.
My priorities were completely out of order. Here are ways you can prioritize God in your business when you know your priorities are off.
Make Meeting with God your First Priority Each Day
Read your Bible and pray before you do ANYTHING else in the morning. Pretty simple, but it’s often overlooked. Guess what, your kids need to see you doing this!
No phone! He deserves the first undistracted moments of your day.
You make time for what matters most to you… It’s a hard truth. So what matters most to you?
I share more about this in my post 7 Noteworthy Things Christian Women Entrepreneurs Do To Be Successful
>>>Get up 15 minutes earlier or lock yourself in the bathroom (without your phone). You do it to hide and eat your sneaky candy bars, you can do it to meet with Jesus.
Guess what…. when you show up to prioritize God, he will faithfully order the rest of your day. He always does! Trust Him.
It’s God that will enable you to serve your clients, husband AND children well today. You can’t do it in your own strength so stop trying.

Recognizing that God is the CEO of this Business Prioritizes Him
Having this proper viewing mindset will transform the way you look at your business and create so much freedom.
Trust that God will direct your business as long as you are aligning it with Biblical principles and the motives of your heart are pure. You’re simply managing it for Him!
He’s called you here, He will equip you, guide you and establish you. Why? Because His name is on the line!
You’ll see me quote this verse below a lot! It’s the promise verse God gave me for this business.
The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
1 Thessalonians 5:24
Seek Him First in Your Business Decisions
Make seeking God in for your business a regular practice.

If you’re feeling stuck, it may mean that you need to go to Him for direction. This happens to me quite a bit. Obviously, every single little decision doesn’t need to be brought to him, but definitely the important ones you need clarity on.
When I’m stuck, I get on my knees and lay the overwhelming decision before the Lord. I always walk out of there with my answer. Whether the answer is…
- I already told you daughter. (i.e. I’m second guessing and not trusting the wisdom and ability to make decisions that HE’S given me, or I’m dragging my feet in fear)
- Do THIS (obediently take the next step He wants you to take)
- Redirection… work on something else.
God redirected me when I was feeling stuck about email marketing… He redirected me and clearly showed me I should be focusing on my FB community instead…. Ok Lord!
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Prioritize God in Business by Grounding it on Biblical Principles
There is so much junk out there in the business world. Unfortunately a lot of business and mindset advice is built more on the law of attraction which has nothing to do with prioritizing God but self.
The difference between a worldly business and a kingdom business is one that is grounded on biblical principles. We don’t believe in growing business in sleazy ways.
We believe in:
- Honesty
- Integrity
- Servanthood
- Biblical mindset
- Excellence
And more! As Christians we know how important it is to never stop growing, learning and getting up when we fall down. This is just a part of sanctification.
Don’t be afraid to serve and add value for free. Don’t be driven to FEAR of giving info for free. God is your provider, He will take care of you.
Pouring into others is the true mark of a servant leader. Also don’t be afraid to charge oh, you won’t have a business around long enough to help others if you don’t charge for your services.

Yielding to Your Season Wisely Prioritizes God in Business
I had my amazing Christian business coach remind me of this recently. To yield to your season when needed.
Summer break from school, teething babies, sick kids… all are seasons outside of our control!
As a mom of young children those challenging seasons can last an hour, 4 weeks or even years. God has called us first to motherhood and then to business. At times, laying down your business tasks to focus on your family submits yourself to God honoring priorities. Continually be seeking His will for your business and life and wisely (and intentionally) yield in your season as you need to… and when you do, don’t beat yourself up. He is calling you to slow down for a reason.
Speed bumps have a purpose right?
The greatest honor we can give our Lord is to prioritize Him in both business and life.

Sounds like, at least in part, what God is trying to teach me 🙂
