Christ-Centered Entrepreneurs Make God Their #1 Priority

Spend time with God first. Meet him in prayer and His Word every single day. He gives us what we need to do this “good work” and we must be plugged into The Source.

Girl, you are his daughter first. It’s important to show up to spend time with Him before you have to wear those other hats (wife, mom, boss etc.) For me this means getting up before anyone else in my house and it’s always hard! I’m sure you’re not sleeping well most nights already either… well with babies up all night or dogs puking and all (ahem…. My life), but making God your #1 priority is your life line, trust me.

God is the CEO of our businesses so consulting with him is so important. We have the privilege of approaching him in prayer so we really have no excuse to worry about anything do we!? I know this is easier said than done, but make sure you set up that meeting with your CEO ok?

He’s called you to this business, it’s His almighty name on the line and he’ll allow you to succeed for that reason! Just make sure you’re meeting with Him so you have the guidance you need. He is drawing you near to himself.. make sure you do your part. It’s Him and His word that equips you for your work and enables you to steward your business for His glory.

All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness;so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NASB

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6 NASB

Christian Women Entrepreneurs Use Their Spiritual Gifts to Answer God’s Call

God has placed this call on your life of serving others and your business is the vehicle to do that. God‘s word tells us that he has equipped us for our calling so it’s important that we answer that call.

He’s even given us the gifts that we need to do that! And in the areas we could use some growth? Well, he’s given us the wisdom, resources and abilities to make that growth possible. God has entrusted you with special gifts. Don’t let them go to waste. He intends for you and I to confidently use them! Lord, help me to boldly step into that truth!

Remember, it is him that qualifies and enables you. You have the privilege to work within your giftings and talents to honor God through your business.

What gifts and strengths has God given you? How can you intentionally use those talents in your business to make a difference in the life of your family, your clients and all the other people that you come in contact with?

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will do it.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:10-11

Successful Christian Business Owners Set Intentional Goals

Have you ever been on a road trip and didn’t have a destination in mind? I’m guessing not. I mean you may have gone on some spontaneous trip but you had some idea of the general direction you would head and the stops you’d need to take along the way right?  (for fuel, snacks etc…)

If you don’t know where you’re going it’s impossible to get there. That’s why in being a successful entrepreneur you have to have goals for your business and life. If you don’t have goals, how will you create the plan and vision to accomplish those goals? You won’t! There are SO MANY benefits to goal setting!

Good stewardship and success in business requires effective and intentional goal setting.

I avoided this majorly important task for years and to be honest I don’t even know how I survived. I was afraid if I set goals and didn’t accomplish them that it meant I was a failure… when the opposite was actually true.

You don’t want to waste as much time as I did because I lacked a plan. Your family will be the ones who suffer… trust me.

While having goals is super important, it’s also equally important to hold those goals loosely. Always check your heart’s motives on your goals…. and be flexible!

The Lord may very well call you to shift them! He does this to me quite often, so set goals but know where discernment comes from – God, not us. Create goals but be willing and ready to change them at any given time.

If God is calling you to rearrange your goals, he’s doing so for His glory alone! That’s your heart anyway right? To glorify and honor God with your business and Impact those he called you to?

proverbs 16 how to set goals as an entrepreneur working from home

Unless the Lord builds a house,
They who build it labor in vain;
Unless the Lord guards a city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalm 127:1

For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?

Luke 14:28

Successful Christian Women Entrepreneurs Have Their Priorities in Order

According to the Bible God has set order for the priorities in a believer’s life. I’m sure you know that this is never easy! God first, then our marriage, family, and finally Business… In that order. When you love what you do it’s easy to prioritize work. but I’m here to tell you that doing so quickly leads to burnout.

As women entrepreneurs we serve in both our home and our business (among other areas!) so it’s important to keep our priorities in order. Our relationship with God and our marriage/family relationships should never suffer in the pursuit of business.

Once again check every motive. Do you have the right motives in business (righteous motives)? Is your first priority to honor God? Are you being a good steward of all the things/people He’s entrusted to you?

Your motive should be to serve your people and to make an impact for God’s Kingdom, not your own. Hold tight to God honoring intentions, motivations and priorities. The enemy would love nothing more than to cause you to stumble in this area! Bible verses regarding order in marriage and in family can be found in Ephesians 5 & 6. I highly recommend you check them out.

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:1-2

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength

Deuteronomy 6:5
Found your God-given calling as a Christian entrepreneur, Christian blogger or Christian coach? Ever wondered what finding your niche and managing your time intentionally has to do with honoring God with your business? Here you’ll find 7 tips to thrive as a faith-based business owner and integrate faith and business. Using your spiritual gifts, defining your ideal client, and setting goals are important in doing business God’s way and help you steward your online business well to avoid burnout.

Successful Female Entrepreneurs Niche Down.

If you’re unfamiliar with that term, “niching down”, simply means to get super specific about who you’re serving and what/why/how you’re serving them. You should know your ideal client through and through so that you can intentionally reach them.

When I say super specific I mean things like:

  • Where do they hang out and shop?
  • Are they married or single?
  • Do they have children? If so how many and what are their ages?
  • What’s their name and age
  • What are their hobbies? Their career? Socioeconomic status?

Niching down enables you to serve your client well and make a difference in their life. It gives you the opportunity to meet them where they’re at and speak their language. It’ll help you think about what they need so that you know how you can best help them.

Learn all that you can about your ideal client so that you can show excellence in this area. Setting this foundational piece from the get-go will save you so much time and energy. It will ensure that you’re focusing your time and energy on the specific people that God has called you to.

What I love about this is that we see this all throughout the Gospels. In the book of Acts, we see God select specific individuals to carry a very specific message (the Gospel) to a specific people. Paul knew his audience and what they believed and he met them right where they were at and the same would go for Peter. God had given them that wisdom.

Each of the disciples had a testimony that equipped them to reach the people God had called them to. You have the opportunity through your business to be evidence of the Gospel too!

Christian Women Entrepreneurs Manage Their Time Well

Time management… I can’t think of a more challenging thing in the life of a mom and Christian entrepreneur. It seems like we’re always pulled in 42 different directions doesn’t it?

Whether you use block scheduling, time blocking or a flexible hybrid like I use, you have to have some order to your days… Or else your children and circumstances will order you! You’ll be stuck in reactive mode instead of being proactive. Create you time-management roadmap with my free tool.

The people that will suffer the most will be you and your children. Sadly, I spent years shoving my kids aside because “mommy needs to get one more thing done” only to blink and realize what I missed. All because I didn’t MAKE the time to lay a time management foundation.

Being a good manager of your time allows you to set healthy work-life boundaries. You need to be setting work hours, home hours, time with your children Etc. and stick to it! I’m amazed that I can raise and homeschool (for now) 4 kids, serve my church and AND serve my people via a successful business (in 2 ish hours a day)! You can read more about my hot mess self here!

It is important to be flexible here also! Being flexible is just using Godly wisdom. You know that you’re going to have interruptions. But an effective time manager will have plans to work within those interruptions.

So, then, be careful how you live. Do not be unwise but wise, making the best use of your time because the times are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

Ephesians 5:15-17

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Psalm 90:12

Successful Christian Women Entrepreneurs Aren’t Quitters!

To be effective Christian women entrepreneurs, we have to keep moving forward. Take action, show up consistently and have patience. Remember that results take time and consistency. When you fall down, get back up… over and over again. Realize the value of persistence and growth through the struggle (James 1 is great for this).

You will have tough times in business and in life as if you don’t already know that. But there is Beauty in the struggle and your determination to press into God in your business through the trials will grow you more than you’ll ever know!

Every single trial and roadblock you overcome will give you more clarity in your business and prepare you to use that trial to help someone else. It’s amazing how God uses everything we go through to encourage others isn’t it?

Find a community of other like-minded entrepreneurs that can come along side you! Your friends, family, and husband probably have no idea why you’re doing this “business thing”. They don’t understand, they don’t know what you’re going through, and they don’t know why in the world you would put yourself through so much… That’s ok! Your community is out there.

For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.

Proverbs 24:16

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary.

Galatians 6:7-9

As a wife, mom, and Christian entrepreneur; being successful to me means being a good steward in each of those areas of my life. This usually includes a lot of struggling along the way though doesn’t it? And yes… that can be painful. Unfortunately I learned many of these things through lots of failure, my prayer is that what I learned will save you heartache!

Remember we have an Unstoppable resource in God. Our business is a vehicle that we can honor him and make a huge difference in the world. Being successful means that you’re furthering God’s kingdom not your own. We do well to show obedience and good stewardship and using our business for God’s glory. The seven things will help you be successful in that!

So tell me…. How is God calling you to change your world?

  2. Hi. Great post! I think for me, the most difficult one on here is “niching down”. I try to do the others whole-heartedly. I think about niching down, but I am uncertain about my audience for sure. I will continue to pray. Thank you.
